Discipline Policy
- Good: All students begin the day on Good, as we assume each child will have a good day.
- Outstanding: Students move from good when they have had an exceptionally great day, or if students exhibit out of the ordinary behaviors.
- Reminder: Students move from Good to Reminder when they were gently reminded about classroom expectations, and struggle following them.
- Miss Recess: Students moved to Miss Recess were given many reminders and opportunities to improve their behavior, but continued to struggle with following classroom expectations.
- Call Home/Visit to the Office: In the extreme circumstance that a student is moved to this level, I will be calling to discuss the details of the situation.
Consequences
- I encourage students to problem solve with a peer when experiences obstacles or dilemmas.
- Stay in for recess to think about how to improve their choices in the future. Students will miss 5 minutes of recess.
- Lose the opportunity to participate in an activity.
Birthday Parties
- Birthday parties are held right after lunch at 12:30.
- Notify the teacher if you are bringing snacks (clear beverages only, please).
- Parents should provide treats that don't require cutting or scooping. Individual treats are best.
- Parents are responsible for bringing plates, napkins, cups and anything else that may be needed.
- Please consider donating a book to the classroom in lieu of hosting a classroom party.
