OTHER GENERAL INFORMATION: includes recess guidelines, dress code, Parent Portal, paying for student meals

Any type of attire which attracts undue attention to the wearer, and thus causes a disturbance to the educational process, is not acceptable. The following are guidelines to assure that we are able to educate our students in a community focused on learning.

  • Overly revealing clothing may not be worn by any student.  This includes, but is not limited to: tops with spaghetti straps that are less than 2” wide, shorts or skirts that do not reach the student’s fingertips when arms are relaxed at their sides, and shirts that do not cover midriff skin or are overly revealing.
  • Clothing and personal items that promote or support alcohol, drugs, tobacco, gangs, profanity, sexual conduct, and violence will not be worn on campus.
  • Sports bras and boxer shorts should be completely covered by outer wear.
  • Pajamas may not be worn.
  • Jeans, trousers and shorts must be worn at the waist.
  • Belts may not hang below the shirt.
  •  Jackets are not to be worn in the building without permission from the teacher or supervising adult.
  • Hats, scarves, caps and sunglasses are not to be worn in the building.  Students may wear appropriate hats, caps and sunglasses outside, but must remove them when entering the building.
  • Bandanas, hairnets, chains, spikes and doo-rags are not allowed.

Using the APS Parent Portal, you can see academic information about your child, including contact information, attendance, grades and class schedules. You can also view fees for middle school students.  First time users of Parent Portal should contact the Quest front office to obtain an Activation Key for initial login.  Please visit the district website for more information about Parent Portal:

At Quest, student classrooms are organized together into “pods” according to grade.

It is the expectation that students well enough to be at school are able to participate in all activities, including outdoor recess.  We suggest that children dress for changeable Colorado weather.  Current weather conditions at the school site will determine if children are sent outside.  Recess will be outdoors if the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above.  In case of inclement weather, students will be supervised for indoor recess within their pods and/or classrooms.

The school cafeteria serves breakfast and lunch each day.  Each child is given a keypad number that he/she will enter on the keypad when they come to breakfast or lunch.  The keypad number identifies the child’s account.  These numbers are confidential and should not be shared with friends.

Parents are encouraged to purchase multiple-day meals.  Payments should include child’s first and last name and keypad number.  Checks are payable to Aurora Public Schools.  Parents can also pay for meals online by creating an account at There is a $1.00 per transaction fee if you choose to use PayPams.

Quest PTA sponsors and supports many exciting activities at Quest.  Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month in the Media Center from 6-7pm.  Contact Quest PTA at:  or

Accountability Committee is another great way to be involved at Aurora Quest K-8.  Accountability committee reviews the school improvement plan and gives suggestions to administration for improvements at Quest.  This committee meets second Tuesdays immediately before PTA from 5-6 pm.

***Free childcare for school age children is provided for both meetings***

Quest offers students a number of extracurricular opportunities.  We have a mix of free and fee-based programs to enhance your student's educational experience.  Most clubs and activities meet after school.  Please keep in mind that space may be limited for some clubs and start/end dates will vary.   Sports+Activities page has the latest information regarding clubs and athletics.
